# Indexical time

In linguistics, calendar time is contrasted to indexical time, i.e., tense in the form of past, present, and future. Temporal reference shifts with every event of speaking and is logically intensional, as is modality (necessity and possibility) and verbs of thinking, feeling, and speaking.
